My auto biography: Who am I?

Well... in first time, when I ask this question to myself, I always conclude that nobody cares more than me.

Here I go:

My name is Camilo Ariel Silva González. I was born on 3rd July in Providencia, Santiago of Chile. After, with my family, we moved to Valdivia, located in the south of Chile.
At elementary school, I studied at Instituto Salesiano in Valdivia. Later, I completed my High school studies at Colegio de Música Johann Sebastian Bach, in the same city.
Actually, I´m studying Public Administration at the Universidad de Chile (third semester). For this, I returned to Santiago to study.

I have a family that supports me, but they lives in Valdivia: my father Luis, my mother Aurora, my two brothers Felipe and Thomas, and my pets Toto, Milo and Rasputin.
I like cycling on off road and the city, also I like to collect model airplanes, in scale 1:72 or less.

Something I really like as person is to be a volunteer and help to others in anything/whatever. Because I think it is important for the good formation in quality as person.

Why did you choose this career/study programme?

When I was a child I dreamed to be a seaman or military, because I like travel and military vehicles/aircrafts. <<Dream is the best>>
Before to entering in my career, I had many problems to take a decision, because It was not the best time of my life; really I was very hesitant. I thought to be air traffic controller, or studying geology. But, thanks to my eldest brother, I could make the decision to study Public Administration at the Universidad de Chile.

So, at that time it seemed to be an excellent career, although I´ve always hated the bureaucracy because I consider it a disaster and this is the explains why Chile is still a third world country.
I always do things that I'm not good, to understand these things and to do them well.
Also, I choose this carrer because I read a great book: Utopia from Saint Tomàs Moro, this helped me understand the importance of public functionary and true public vocation for the common good and without personal interests. The university has taught me a lot about this, with bureaucratic values implanted by Max Weber and the Bureaucratic Prussian School as probity, efficiency and effectiveness.

I would like to work in topics associated to International Relations <<good relations>>.

My favorite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is my personal computer or notebook, this is a Hp Pavilion. My mother bought me in early May of last year, to study and work <lol>.
I always use my notebook, to do works; do presentations; play computer games (somestimes); to read news; to investigate anything; watch movies, tv series or documentary, listen to music, and to contact with family, acquaintances and friends.

I like my notebook, because there are few of its kind, this has many capabilities, as open many software at once. and it has been a multipurpose tool. I played games that a common computer can´t resist either as Battlefield 2, BF 3, etc.

And without my computer, I could not make my life more comfortable, responsible and fun. For this, I hope that my notebook has a shelf life for many years, just I´ve to take care.

My favorite music Themed/Free Post 1.-

Personal note: I think the music style doesn`t define your person (the way you are, or how you will be).

I am a person who always likes to change to new things, so, I'm not a person with exquisite musical preferences. Then, I can say I like many styles of harmonies.

Since childhood, I was getting used to listen to music from the 80s - in English, French, or Spanish. My parents liked the music of this period, and so, they listened to music this type of music very often.

List of styles I like:

1.- 80s rock
2.- 80s pop

Today:

3.- Renaissance Music. It`s a nice style, because, almost all musicians of this time, created very nice works of art, but, not put their real name in the works, these were only under the authorship of anonymous person.
4.- Russian music.
5.- Deep
6.- Punk Rock
7.- Reggaeton.
8.- Just some songs of other styles of music, as rap; pop; etc.

A Photograph (its story).-

This photograph was taken on February 23th, 2016, by my older brother Felipe.

This photo is very special because while we were going on a road inside the Parque Nacional Huerquehue (in english: Huerquehue National Park) , located in the Región de la Araucanía, we find a vehicle parked on the side of the road, I quickly realized that the patent of that vehicle was from foreign country, and besides, we read that it was a patent from Alaska, United States. Therefore we were impressed, as the crew of the vehicle had traveled many kilometers from Alaska to Chile. But we also realized that the vehicle was stopped because he had a flipped tire, because the car had stepped into a hole in the road, but it was not a "any hole", so,  it was a hole that ran through the entire thickness of the road, and below this  passing a river coming to the Lago Caburga (Caburga lake).

What had happened aroused in me a feeling of insecurity to know where trod was not safe and could perhaps spend the same thing that  happened to the American vehicle. Fortunately this didn`t happen.

My brother couldn`t take more pictures because just in this moment  the memory of the camera is over, but my mom took a picture of the hole, with his cell phone, but this now is lost , so, we don`t have a picture of the hole.

Role, with Ethical and Moral Principles of a Public Administrator - Themed/Free Post 2.-

These issues are important  in our field, because, in necesary to improve these aspects to give credibility to the system (participation of State to improve the quality of life for the people). Therefore, the total trust of the people in the public services and institutions have to restored, for instance: increase transparency and citizen participation.
Besides, If the public administrator has a good ethical training, he will has a good performance in their vocation of public service.

The concept of “truth” becomes the concept of “Common good” in the Middle age. Thanks to the work of philosophers like Saint Tomás Moro, this concept arises to the public activity of a State and Government. Besides, thanks to the work of modern and contemporary philosophers, sociologists, and other professionals, they stablish the following principles for a good administration.

-          Humanism
-          Equality
-          Innovation
-          Inclusion
-          Sustainability (management)
-          Competitiveness
-          Legality
-          Democratic Governability
-          Transparency
-          Accountability (render account)
-          Probity
-          Effectiveness and Efficiency.

A Subject you enjoy studying this semester

My favorite subject in this semester is Estadísticas Para la Gestión I (or in english Statistics For Management I). Usually in classes, we listen to what the teacher explains; my professor R. S. is a great man, he just want to teach all that he has learned, although many students - I include- demonstrate not paying attention. However, I understand their classes. So this way, to learn the same, and that future, we do an excellent quality of work when we work as public administrators in service to all country.
Besides, we work with computer programs like Stata, SPSS, or Microoft Office Excel, to obtain data. In simple words "to test what we are learning".

The main contents in this course are:

- Association of qualitative variables with Chi square.
- Association of quantitative variables with  Linear Correlation Coefficient and Covariance.
- Types of variables.
- Simple Linear Regression.
- Statisticians Dispersion
- Absolute frequencies and relative frequencies.
- Contingency tables.
- Make analysis of the results made by computer programs, mentioned above.

Although in the tests I'm not very good, I try to get better and better, and I've learned a lot.

Evaluation of blog experience.-

I think that create a blog in English was a challenge

At first, I thought this would be a waste of time, but my perception changed because this meant learning new words I did not know, also, I had to make more complete sentences, and not simple sentences as  it used to do.

This has meant that I could improve just a little drafting in English, but, I still need more practice, because I used tools such as dictionaries and internet. It was very necesary.

For the future, I would like that the number of blogs is reduced, but in return, we could put many photos on a blog and make little comments in English, but not  simple comments (for instance: historical review of the photo, our interpretation, create a story, etc.), so, this way, the risk of error when writing large paragraphs, is considerably reduced, and so too, we can do a better job, which means dedication, interest, something more complete and something less forced to write.

I would like to add the following topics for the future:

- World events that interest us (as, comic con, wars, international political conflict etc.

- Invent and write an article of news, poetry, song, etc.

- What vehicle we like

- Make a comment of our career, or a message to the public to they can understand that a good bureaucracy and good public administrators enable that a developing country like Chile can be better.

THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION!!!

And finally...

5. The Last Ship:

The Last Ship is a TV series released by the US network TNT and is directed by Michael Bay. This has two seasons, soon will be released the third. Besides, the series is based on the book by William Brinkley published in 1988.

The Last Ship begins when a virus attacks the entire population around the world, razing more than 80% of the world population. Situation where the US warship "USS Nathan James" -with 218 crew (men and women), and led by Captain Thomas Chandler- is at sea, in search off scientific evidence. For this, the ship was not victim  of the virus.

As time passes, the ship and its crew will have survival problems (such as shortage of food, medicines and drinking water), conflict with a Russian nuclear war ship, mercenaries, among other problems. All this happens while they trying to survive and find a cure to stop the virus and save humanity.

It is an excellent series of drama and suspense, but the problem is, is that the director wants to show American leadership (represented in the captain of the vessel) as authentic, as only country with good intentions -a comparison of the Russians-. In consequence, all the world depends on the work of the ship and no one else.

6.- The X Files (Part II):

The last season was aired on 25th January, 2016. With just six chapter.

A comparison of the first season, the structure of presentation of the series changes, because the final of each chapter doesn´t end in an explanation, but, leaves to reflection of each receiver of this series.
For all fans of this series, you have to see this new season, to understand as follows this series, and to understand a possible next film. <<Just you have to watch it, the truth is out here>>

Talking about other TV series.-

3. The Black Donnellys:

It is an American television series created by Paul Haggis and Robert Moresco, and premiered on NBC on February 26th, 2007 and aired for the last time on April 2, 2007; caused by a low audience.

This is about the lives of four brothers of Irish-American origin, who live in New York, specifically in a working-class neighborhood, home to Italians and Irish, with a strong Catholic tradition. This neighborhood has Italian and Irish mafias. In both mafias have a strong rivalry to obtain more territories; also they threaten to different owners of commercial premises (with taxes in exchange for protection). These young people raised as Catholics confront the dilemma of what is evil? and what is good?. However, when they were children, the things that happened caused them to be part of organized crime. Although they always refused to be part of this. for this, they have killed gangsters, in order to get peace.
The episodes are narrated by a childhood friend, Joey "Ice Cream", who narrates the events from a very subjective point of view and unreliable

This series shows from a very real and fictional events that occurred in Irish and Italian neighborhoods. sure, this is part of the drama of the series. Besides. in a second place, the directors are trying to show problems such as:
  • The neighborhood is Also Threatened by Attempts to displace ITS population, and lead to the marginalization, Caused by the project to create new districts, keeping the country's development. Project Influenced by actors of power with feelings of racism, to the detriment of these immigrants (and their descendants).

4. Band Of Brothers:

Band of Brothers is a television series produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. It was released in 2001 on HBO, this has 10 chapters. The series is based on the book of the same title written by historian and biographer Stephen Ambrose.

Series about World War II. this shows the action that took the 506º Easy Company of the Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division of the US Army, since  training of the troops until entry to the World War II, specifically on the European stage.
The series seems quite objective, although, the events are based on interviews to veterans of Easy Company (All characters in the series are based on real characters of that company) leaving a degree of subjectivity.

It's a pretty entertaining series, in it you can meet European stages (not so mentioned) of the Second World War!

Let´s talk about some TV Series.

1. The X Files (Part I):

It is an television series (from USA) of science fiction, riddles and drama. Created by Chris Carter, produced and broadcast by the television network FOX. This series has 208 episodes, divided into ten seasons -originally-. First episode was shown on September 10, 1993 - and the last was in May 19, 2002. A new season began on January 24, 2016 with just six chapters (but this is subject to a second publication).

Two FBI agents: Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigates cases classified as "X Files", containing paranormal phenomena, UFO sightings, alleged alien abductions, conspiracies within the US government, among many other topics. Each episode awakens a feeling of adrenaline that make the viewer want to know how it ends each chapter. Each episode had a very clear structure:  introduction with a history of each case, then a research began (in some case, the investigation was restarted because there were cases arising in previous years and/or decades). The investigation could end up with an explanation, where the scientific element was added for testing. But, also sometimes, the logic-rational could not explain what happened; being a final explanation the opinion of the protagonists. <<The truth is out there>>

2. JERICHO:

Is a television series created and broadcast by CBS Paramount Network Television in 2006. The series has 29 episodes (two seasons). It's a pretty good series, with an extensive content. And what I like most is the oppening, because it incorporates the sound of morse code.

The story of this series focuses on a fictional town called Jericho, located in the State of Kansas; its habitants must adapt to a new world after a nuclear attacks series against 23 US cities. After that residents saw a nuclear fungus, speculating that it was in Denver, Colorado, the citizens were in a public chaos because they didn´t know what would happen to them. All communication with the outside world is lost, the town without supplies; and it is the Mayor who manages to calm people and work in cooperation among residents.
In addition, Jericho had problems such as civil strife in cities / towns nearby, radioactive fallout, mercenaries, fake soldiers, problems with the mafia, and the arrival of the Army of the Allied States, this institution began to implement a new history to a new country (new standards, lifestyles, teaching a new history to children, a new flag).

These nuclear attacks were made by terrorists (agents of the Central Intelligence Agency), who obeyed a conspiracy that wanted to create a new country: the Allied States of America. One of these agents, escaped and didn´t detonate the bomb, He arrived to Jericho with her family, who finally had proof of the greatest act of terrorism in the world: a nuclear bomb.
Besides, the detonation of nuclear bombs, caused national chaos, dividing the United States in three (mainly): Allied States of America (AS) on the West Coast, United States of America (US) on the east coast, and Independent Republic of Texas in the south . In this series, the islands of US scattered throughout the world and Alaska are not mentioned.
A second civil war for the United States was imminent, but have the support of Texas was vital to the Allied States and the United States, but will not write more about it, just watch it, you will not regret.
